Owen Arthur
Leader of the moderate social-democratic Barbados Labour Party (BLP), Owen Arthur is an economist by training and has been a member of parliament since the early 1980s. When taking office at the age of 44 in 1994, he was the country's fifth prime minister since independence in 1966.
