Uruguay's President Tabaré Vázquez has accepted a requirement from the Argentine government for future negotiations over the pulp-mill dispute: he agreed not to construct any new pulp mills along the banks of the Uruguay River. Vázquez's acceptance of this demand seems to indicate that the two countries are closer to resuming negotiations over the acrimonious issue.
