Tracking Trends

ARGENTINA | Growth running above expectations. GDP growth in the first quarter of this year reached 8.6%, above the slowdown to about 8% which private economists have been forecasting. In 2005 the third consecutive year of growth since the 2001- 2002 slump, GDP expanded by 9.2%. Compared with the last quarter of 2005, GDP in January - March was up 1.2%.
