BRAZIL: Alckmin could win if voters knew who he is

If President Lula da Silva's main rival, former São Paulo governor Geraldo Alckmin, were better known, he would stand a good chance of beating Lula. This is one of the least remarked conclusions of the most recent opinion poll to be published in Brazil. Its headline finding is that Lula still attracts most voter preferences: 48% to the mere 19% supporting Alckmin.
