ECUADOR: Signs that Cynthia Viteri may be rising

There are signs, albeit weak ones, that Cynthia Viteri, candidate of the conservative Partido Social Cristiano (PSC), is becoming a credible challenger in the presidential contest. Polls show that support for her has been growing since her formal nomination, and at least one shows her a whisker ahead of the previous front-runner, banana magnate Alvaro Noboa.
