ARGENTINA: Opposition fears 'crowding out' by a PRI-like PJ

There is great apprehension among the opposition parties that they may end up being 'crowded out' of the October elections by the fact that in most places the real contest will take place between rival factions of the ruling Partido Justicialista (PJ). In only nine provinces will there be anything like the traditional contest between the PJ and the Unión Cí­vica Radical (UCR), and only one of these, Mendoza, is among those with substantial weight in the federal congress.
