COSTA RICA: Trade deficit increases

The country's trade deficit jumped by 58% in the first two months of 2008 to US$962m. Imports were up by a thumping 26% while exports rose by just 11%, showing that the economy is already feeling the effects of the slowdown in the US and, possibly, China.
