This is our third effort at forecasting what will happen in the region in 2008. We are making these forecasts in late-March, just after the US Federal Reserve Board cut US interest rates by 0.75 of a percentage point, to 2.25%, and supervised the rescue of Bear Stearns, a US investment bank, by JP Morgan Chase, a US commercial and investment bank.
