ECONOMIC OVERVIEW

A poll of 32 economists on 15 December found that most of them believed that the economy emerged from recession in the third quarter. The official statistics agency, DANE, will publish its figure on 21 December.
The consensus is for 0.14% quarter-on-quarter growth after three consecutive quarters of falls. Economists said that the feeble recovery they were penciling in could easily be washed away by a poor performance in a sector they were not monitoring and that the situation was still delicate.
