Bolivian state of exception extended

Bolivia’s legislative assembly voted on 17 September to extend for a further 90 days the state of exception declared by President Rodrigo Paz in June. The government argued that the extension is necessary due to a lingering risk of left-wing protests which caused massive disruption in May and June, with roadblocks across the highway network [WR-26-25].
