In brief: Monthly inflation in Argentina continues to slow

*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released the latest figures for its consumer price index (IPC), showing a monthly inflation rate of 1.9% in June, while annual inflation stood at 33.5%. The June figure marks another slowdown in monthly inflation, following rates of 2.1% in May, 2.6% in April, and 3.4% in March. It marks the lowest monthly rate since August 2025, which also registered a monthly rate of 1.9%. It is also just below the 2.0% median estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg. However, in annual terms, inflation was up from 33.2% in May, 32.4% in April, and 32.6% in March, marking the highest rate since August 2025. Of the 12 categories of products and services measured by Indec, the greatest monthly price increases were registered in recreation and culture (+4.2%), housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (+3.3%), health (+2.9%), and alcoholic drinks and tobacco (+2.1%).
