Colombia’s far-right president-elect Abelardo de la Espriella is steadily filling the ministerial positions in his incoming cabinet. He has made some significant announcements, none more so than that of the new minister of defence, retired General Jorge Eduardo Mora, who is promising to crack down hard on the country’s illegal armed groups once he assumes his position when De la Espriella takes office on 7 August.
