BRAZIL: Electoral court suspends opinion poll

The head of the superior electoral court (TSE), Kássio Nunes Marques, has ordered the suspension of a survey published on 19 May by polling firm AtlasIntel which showed President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva ahead of his main right-wing rival in the presidential race, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Partido Liberal, PL). Bolsonaro’s popularity in recent weeks has declined following revelations in mid-May that he had requested funds from the controversial banker Daniel Vorcaro, the central figure in the high-profile Banco Master fraud investigation [WR-26-20].
