*Venezuela’s President Delcy Rodríguez has announced plans for a “restructuring and re-engineering of government”. Speaking during a cabinet meeting, Rodríguez said that Héctor Rodríguez, the education minister and vice president for social and territorial socialism (no relation), has been appointed as the commissioner responsible for devising “a new system of government adapted to Venezuela’s new reality”. Without going into detail, President Rodríguez spoke of a Venezuela “that is being reborn while keeping its identity… a Venezuela that is seeking its own path for the happiness of its people”. She said that within the next 90 days Héctor Rodríguez would present a plan for this restructuring. She also announced that Economy and Finance Minister Anabel Pereira will assume an additional role as presidential commissioner for government efficiency.
