BRAZIL | Primary surplus down in January. Brazil’s central bank (BCB) reported on 27 February that the public sector posted a primary surplus of R$103.7bn (US$19.9bn) in January 2026. This marks a decrease from the monthly surplus of R$104.1bn registered in the same month last year.
