In brief: Remittances to El Salvador down in monthly terms
*El Salvador’s central bank (BCR) has released new figures showing that remittances to the country totalled US$759.45m in January, down from US$961.12m in December, and the lowest monthly amount since February 2025, when remittances were US$730.35m. Remittances to the country totalled a record US$9.99bn in 2025, up 17.8% on 2024.
