CHILE: Gov’t defends handling of Chinese subsea cable concession
On 24 February Chile’s President Gabriel Boric defended his government’s handling of plans by a Chinese company to build an undersea fibre optic cable, after the US slapped travel bans on three Chilean government officials last week over concerns the project would undermine international security.
