Peru’s President José Jerí is battling to remain in his post just a few months after he replaced the impeached Dina Boluarte (2002-2025) amid a scandal surrounding leaked videos of ‘off agenda’ meetings he held with a Chinese businessman Zhihua Yang on 26 December and 6 January. Jerí could be saved by a quirk of timing. In the meantime, presidential and congressional elections are drawing ever closer on 12 April.End of preview - This article contains approximately 905 words.
