In brief: Honduras posts rise in remittances

*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures indicating that remittances to the country totalled US$1.11bn in December, up from US$967.43m in November. This brings total remittances for the year to US$12.21bn up from US$9.74bn in 2024. The latest (2024) World Bank figures estimate that remittances account for 25.7% of Honduras’ GDP.
