In brief: Argentina sells bonds with high yields

*Argentina’s finance secretariat has completed a bond auction in which it rolled over 98% of the debt it had offered in the auction. The government received bids totalling Ar$9.37tn (US$6.45bn), with the offer totalling US$10.06tn. The bonds that were sold had maturity dates ranging from 27 February 2026 to 30 June 2028. Reports in the media have highlighted the high interest rates on some of the bonds - including Lecap/Boncap treasury bonds which had annual interest rates of up to 49.16%.
