HONDURAS: Former president Hernández denies coup plot claims
On 16 December Honduras’ President Xiomara Castro accused her predecessor, Juan Orlando Hernández (2014-2022), who was recently released from a US prison where he had been serving a 45-year prison sentence for drug and weapon-related charges, of preparing a coup against her leftist ruling Partido Libertad y Refundación (Libre) government.
