In brief: Remittances to Guatemala slow in monthly terms

*Guatemala’s central bank (Banguat) has released new figures showing that remittances to the country totalled US$1.93bn in November 2025, down from US$2.39bn in October but up from US$1.73bn in November 2024. The November 2025 figure brings total remittances for the year to US$23.29bn, up from US$19.57bn in the first 11 months of 2024. According to a report released last month by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the US accounts for 92.9% of remittances sent to Guatemala.
