JAMAICA: Recovery and reconstruction funds

On 1 December the International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced that, along with the Latin American development bank (CAF), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and World Bank (WB), it had assembled a comprehensive package of up to US$6.7bn over three years to strengthen Jamaica’s recovery and reconstruction efforts following the devastating passage of Hurricane Melissa, which made landfall as a category 5 storm in October [WR-25-44].
