*The Dominican Republic’s tourism ministry has released new figures showing that 10.28m tourists visited the country in the first 11 months of 2025, which it said guarantees that the year will close with
“record” tourism figures. The figure for the first 11 months is up 3.1% on the same period in 2024, 13% on 2023, and 52% on 2019 – the year before the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic struck. According to the same report, 39% of tourists were from the US, 19% were from Canada, 6% were from Argentina, and 6% were from Colombia. The country
received a record 11.19m tourists in 2024 – an increase of 9% on 2023.
