*Paraguay’s national statistics institute (INE) has released new data showing an unemployment rate of 4.9% in the third quarter of 2025, a 0.1 percentage point fall from the previous quarter and a decrease of 0.4 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024. This brought the total number of people classified as unemployed to 165,426, of which 72,066 (43.6%) were men and 93,360 (56.4%) were women. The report also highlighted progress in the formalisation of Paraguay’s workforce, with 41.5% of workers in formal work, up from 38.7% in the same quarter last year. Paraguay’s President
Santiago Peña said in a press conference on 14 November that the number of workers in formal employment had surpassed 40%
