In brief: International visitors to Mexico up despite tourist drop

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has announced that the country received 7.28m international visitors in September, up 16% year-on-year. Of these visitors, 3.20m were international tourists, down 3.2% on September 2024, while 4.08m were day-trippers, up 37.5% year-on-year. Revenue from international tourism totalled US$1.59bn, down 1.1% as compared to September 2024, while revenue from international day-trippers was up 40.2% at US$256.4m.
