In brief: Brazil’s trade surplus widens in October

*Brazil’s ministry of development, industry, trade, and services has announced that the country registered a trade surplus of US$6.96bn in October, up 70.2% year-on-year. Exports in October totalled US$31.98bn, up 9.1% on October 2024, while imports totalled US$25.01bn, down 0.8%. In monthly terms, the trade surplus was up from US$2.99bn in September, when exports totalled US$30.5bn and imports US$27.4bn.
