In brief: Paraguay’s inflation edges down

*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released inflation figures for October, which showed a monthly deflation rate of -0.1% and an annual inflation rate of 4.1%. This matches the monthly deflation rate in September and is down from monthly inflation of 0.1% in August. The annual rate is down from annual inflation of 4.3% in September and 4.6% in August. The core inflation rate in October, which excludes items with volatile prices such as food and fuels, stood at 0% in monthly terms, down slightly from 0.1% in September and 0.3% in August. Core inflation in October stood at 3.6% in annual terms, down from 3.9% in September and 4.0% in August.
