*Brazil’s national association of vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea) has warned that vehicle production in the country is being put at risk by a
“critical shortage of semiconductors”. In a statement circulated in the Brazilian press, Anfavea said that:
“The new chips crisis… intensified this month, after the Dutch government took control of the manufacturer Nexperia, a semiconductor giant operating in that country, and which is the subsidiary of a Chinese group [Wingtech Technology]”. Anfavea added that in response to this,
