*Brazilian mining company Vale has released its production results for the third quarter of this year, showing that iron ore production totalled 94.4m tonnes (t). This marks a 12.9% increase on the preceding quarter and a 3.8% increase on the same quarter last year. Regarding Vale’s other main products, iron pellet production stood at 8.0m t in Q3, up 1.9% in quarterly terms but down 22.8% year-on-year. Copper production totalled 90,800 t, down 1.9% compared to the previous quarter and up 5.7% compared to Q3 2024, while nickel production came to 46,800 t, up 16.1% in quarterly terms but down 0.6% year-on-year. In its latest quarterly report, Vale attributed the rise in iron ore production to a ramp-up in its main mining projects and record quarterly production levels at its S11D mine, located in the northern state of Pará.
