*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released inflation figures for September, which showed monthly deflation of -0.1% but annual inflation of 4.3%. This is down from monthly inflation of 0.1% in August, when the annual rate stood at 4.6%. In September the core inflation rate, which excludes items with volatile prices such as food and fuels, stood at 0.1% in monthly terms, down from 0.3% in August, and 3.9% in annual terms, down from 4.0% in August. The BCP attributed monthly deflation in September to reductions in fuel prices and imported durable goods. However, it said this was offset by increases in the price of food and other goods such as clothing, cleaning products, and personal care items.
