VENEZUELA: Maduro makes Trump gesture as damning report released

Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro and senior officials in his government are lurching between conciliatory and confrontational rhetoric amid heightened diplomatic tensions with the US. Against this backdrop the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Venezuela released an annual report which serves as a savage indictment of the Maduro government’s actions in the year since presidential elections widely regarded as fraudulent, chronicling systematic human rights abuses and repression of ‘dissenters’ and their relatives.
