*Peru’s investment promotion agency (Proinversión) has awarded four projects worth a total of US$214m to build transmission lines and electricity substations that will benefit 2.3m people in Arequipa, Lima, Apurímac, and Puno regions. Peru’s state news agency Andina reported that, following the awarding of these projects, which are part of the government’s 2023-2032 electricity transmission plan, Proinversión has a further 18 electricity projects in its 2025-2034 electricity transmission plan to award between 2025 and 2026, worth a total of US$930m in investment.
