*The Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab), the logistics arm of the Brazilian government’s ministry for agrarian development, has released its latest forecasts for meat production in 2026 and grain production in the 2025/2026 harvest cycle. Conab expects meat production to total 32.3m tonnes (t) for 2026, which would be a record figure and would mark an increase from the 32.1m t projected for 2025, while grain production in 2025/2026 is expected to total 353.8m t, up from the 350.2m t projection for the 2024/2025 cycle. Regarding meat products, Conab forecasts poultry production in 2026 to total 15.9m t, while pork production is expected to register 5.8m t, and the latest forecast for beef is 10.6m t. The projections for pork and poultry would be also record figures. Brazil’s main grain export, soybeans, is expected to register 177.67m t in 2025/2026, up from the 171.47m in 2024/2025.
