In brief: Monthly inflation down in Colombia

*Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has published its latest consumer price index, which shows a monthly inflation rate of 0.19% in August, down from 0.28% in July. This brought annual inflation in August to 5.10%, up from 4.90% the previous month. The steepest monthly price rises in August were for alcohol and tobacco (+0.59%), restaurants and hotels (+0.49%), healthcare (+0.46%), and food and non-alcoholic drinks (+0.45%).
