*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest global indicator of economic activity (IGAE), revealing a slight boost for the country’s economy in April. Economic activity advanced by 0.5% compared to the previous month, while activity was up 1.4% year-on-year. This compares to a monthly decrease in the IGAE of 0.2% in March and a yearly increase of 0.5%. Activities in the tertiary (services) sector increased by 0.9% in April in monthly terms, while the secondary (manufacturing) sector grew by 0.1%. However, activities in the primary (agriculture) sector dropped by 3.7% from the previous month. In yearly terms, activities in the primary sector were up by 3.2% and the tertiary sector by 2.2%, while the secondary sector was down by 0.7%.
