NETHERLANDS ANTILLES: New status for Dutch islands

The three smaller islands of the Netherlands Antilles have signed an agreement with the Netherlands to become a part of the European nation. Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba are to become a type of Dutch municipality, while Curacao and Saint Maarten opted for autonomy. However, without the agreement of all five islands on the future of the Dutch Caribbean, the smaller three may have to wait to join the EU.
