In brief: Heineken announces major investment in Mexico

*Oriol Bonaclocha, the CEO in Mexico of Dutch multinational brewing company Heineken, has announced that the company will be investing US$2.75bn in Mexico until 2028 in various projects. Speaking in President Claudia Sheinbaum’s daily press conference yesterday, Bonaclocha said that this investment includes the construction of a new factory in Kanasín municipality, Yucatán state, which will generate over 3,000 new jobs, directly and indirectly. He said that the new plant would have an initial production capacity of 4m hectolitres (one hectolitre = 100 litres) although this could double further down the line.
