Quantifying the gains

Rodrigo Durán, a manager at Chile’s CENIA, highlights a study which seeks to quantify AI gains. This shows that the incorporation of AI tools into the work done by people in Chile’s 100 most important job categories, a total of 5.69m workers, could lift the country’s GDP growth by 1.21 percentage points, an amount equivalent to US$3.381bn. For Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole, there are estimates that AI could boost GDP by 5.4% of US$0.5trn by 2030.
