ECUADOR: Colombian guerrillas accused of massacring soldiers

Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa declared three days of national mourning following the massacre on 9 May of 11 soldiers in Orellana province, near the Colombian border. Ecuador’s authorities swiftly pointed the finger at the Colombian rebel group Comandos de Frontera, stating that the guerrillas opened fire on the soldiers as they approached an illegal mining camp.
