In brief: Mexico’s inflation continues to edge up

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the consumer price index (INPC) for April, reporting monthly inflation stood at 0.33%, up from 0.31% in March. This brings the annual headline inflation rate to 3.93%, up from 3.80% in March, and just above the 3.90% median estimate of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. Core inflation, which excludes volatile items like food and fuel, was 0.49% on a monthly basis, up from 0.43% in March.
