Isabel Allende Bussi, a member of the left-of-centre Partido Socialista (PS) and daughter of Chile’s former president Salvador Allende (1970-1973), has lost her seat in the senate over a controversial initiative by the government of President Gabriel Boric to buy her father’s house in Santiago and convert it into a museum.
