In brief: Economic activity up in Mexico

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest global indicator of economic activity (IGAE), revealing a boost for the country’s economy. In February, economic activity advanced by 1.0% compared to the previous month, while activity was up 0.5% year-on-year. Activities in the secondary (manufacturing) sector increased by 2.5% in monthly terms, while the primary (agriculture) sector grew by 1.0% and the tertiary (services) sector by 0.6%. In yearly terms, activities in the tertiary sector were up by 1.0% and the secondary sector by 0.4% while the primary sector was down by 4.3%.
