*Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has released the latest figures for its IBC-Br economic activity index, used as a proxy to anticipate GDP figures, which showed a 0.4% monthly rise in activity in February. Compared with February 2024, economic activity was up 4.1%. The accumulated activity in the 12 months until February 2025 was up 3.8% from the preceding 12-month period. This latest monthly rise in activity comes amid a slight monthly drop in
industrial production in February (-0.1%), but a monthly rise in the
volume of services provided in Brazil (+0.8%).
