Luis Del Carpio, the executive director of Peru’s investment promotion agency (Proinversión), has announced that the agency is promoting 116 public-private partnership projects (PPPs) worth US$70bn between 2025 and 2026. He said these projects can be divided into four main groups. The first is a portfolio of projects awaiting adjudication. Of these there are 34 for 2025 worth over US$8.8bn and 46 for 2026 worth over US$8.2bn. Del Carpio said that these 80 initiatives include: 26 transport & communications projects worth US$9.1bn; 23 electricity projects worth US$1.2bn; and 14 sanitation projects worth US$2.1bn, among others. He said that a second group corresponds to the signing of addenda of new existing concessions which total over US$9.5bn. The third group comprises a portfolio of 14 major irrigation projects worth over US$21bn, while the fourth group comprises 13 additional PPPs worth US$19.3bn which await structuring by Proinversión. These include lines three and four of the Lima metro and 10 cable cars in Lima and the regions, among other things.
