MEXICO: Congress upholds immunity on rape charges
On 25 March Mexico’s lower chamber of congress voted by 291-158 with 12 abstentions not to lift the immunity from prosecution enjoyed by one of its members, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, who faces allegations of attempted rape, corruption, and links with organised crime.
