BRAZIL: Central bank suggests slowing rate hike cycle

On 19 March the monetary policy committee (Copom) of Brazil’s central bank (BCB) raised the country’s benchmark interest rate (Selic) by 100 basis points, up to 14.25%, but signalled the possibility of a smaller rate hike in the next Copom meeting scheduled for 6-7 May.
