BOLIVIA: Coca production ticks up
The land area dedicated to coca cultivation in Bolivia increased by 4% in 2023, according to a report published on 18 February by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). This brought the total area dedicated to coca crops to 31,000 hectares (ha), up from 29,900 ha in 2022 and exceeding the 22,000 ha limit that is permitted under Bolivian law for traditional use.
