BRAZIL | Current account deficit widens year-on-year. On 27 February Brazil’s central bank (BCB) released the balance of payments figures for January 2025, which showed a current account deficit of US$8.7bn. This marks a smaller deficit than the US$9bn deficit registered for December 2024 but nearly double the deficit of US$4.4bn from January 2024.
