*Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has released its latest industrial production figures, revealing a 1.9% year-on-year increase in January 2025. This marks a slowdown from the 8.8% year-on-year increase in December 2024. On seasonally adjusted figures, the industrial production index (IPI) showed a 2.0% increase compared with the same month in 2024, and a 3.1% decrease in monthly terms. According to the INE report, the manufacturing index (IPMan) rose 3.5% year-on-year, driven by a 7.8% rise in food product manufacturing. Meanwhile, the mining production index (IPMin) recorded a modest 0.6% annual increase, with non-metallic mining up 10.7%. Finally, the electricity, gas, and water production index (Ipega) saw a 0.5% year-on-year rise, with water up 2.2%.
